I started this bakery to make plant-based baked goods because I wanted to share my love of animals and the joy that baking plant-based ingredients can bring to you! I work with organic and locally sourced produce and ingredients. Because I use local, my baked goods are seasonal and not all flavors are available at all times.
I specialize in making your special occasion or celebration unique to you. I will work with any allergens you may have and even special diets as much as possible. I’m always seeking new flavors, new combinations and different ways to make a product that tastes fantastic. Please feel free to inquire about any ideas you have that I can make come true!
Everybody loves dessert and a great tasting dessert doesn’t need dairy! This realization became the mantra for Lovejoy Bakery.
Chef Rhonda has been cooking her way through life since she married at age 17. Her first food memories are baking with her Grandma. Her job, as she sat on the kitchen table, was to add ingredients to the stand mixer when told. Lovejoy is a family name (from her Grandmother’s Sister, Annabelle Lovejoy) and when mixed with the memories of baking with her Grandmother, became the vision of what she wants to provide with her baked goods. Chef Rhonda attended The Natural Epicurean Culinary School in 2015 where she honed in French technique. She also studied raw, Ayurveda and Macrobiotic cooking styles along with nutrition classes and cooking for health. She has become very aware of the impact food has on the body. Her focus is on seasonal produce, organic ingredients, unrefined flours and sweeteners and making the best baked goods that taste good and make you feel...love and joy!
The love and delight of introducing people to the world of eating plant-based food that tastes good and is good for you, and her experience as resident baker working in various kitchens in the Austin area helped realize a bigger dream.
She is determined to be a baker who is adventurous, diligent and excited by what food has to offer, all while making new friends and creating unforgettable food.
