I’m a native Houstonian who moved to Austin to attend The Univeristy of Texas . I earned a BA in painting and drawing. Later I attended Stephen F. Austin State University and earned a Master’s Degree in sculpture and jewelry. After a career in graphic and video arts, I attended The Natural Epicurean Culinary School to further my knowledge and skills in vegan and vegetarian cooking and baking. I currently reside in Pflugerville with my husband (and high school sweetheart) . When I’m not baking, I enjoy antiquing, growing flowers and herbs and walking the trails .
I began Lovejoy Bakery in June of 2019 because I loved the joy that baking gave me and wanted to share my creations. Little did I know that it would give me so much in return. The bakery has allowed me to weave together all my passions. My love of nature and flowers, my most cherished memories from childhood and my new found love of math and science are all come together in my cakes, cupcakes and desserts.
I’ve been an artist as long as I can remember. I’m inspired by nature and more specifically, plants and flowers. My best work is creating original cakes, that incorporate natural elements, asymmetrical design and unusual textures, in a modern painterly fashion. My goal for your cake is beauty, inside and out.
I enjoy creating unique flavors. I want the cake to taste as good as it looks. I bake to order so it’s always fresh. This passion for flavor and freshness does not lend itself to large cakes. I prefer to make small cakes that focus on taste and beauty.
I specialize in artisan custom cakes, cupccakes and other desserts. All cakes are hand made, one at a time. I will work with any allergens you may have and even special diets as much as possible. I’m always seeking new flavors, new combinations and different ways to make a product that tastes fantastic. Please feel free to inquire about any ideas you have that I can make come true!
My mission is simple, create delicious and beautiful cakes that celebrate all life.
